buildingSMART Norway participates both through the administration and by a number of appointed members in several different national and international committees for standardization.  

We participate in the committees for BIM standardization (SN/K 380) which standardizes BIM practices and the mirror committee (SN/K 257) which, through the national standardization body Standards Norway  has voting rights in the European standardization organization CEN and the International Organization for Standardization ISO.

When the committee is faced with an issue, this is taken back to our professional network. This can, for example, occur at meetings in Technical domain or Product domain, where members discuss among themselves. Feedback is then provided to the committee SN/K 257 Standards Norway, so they can vote on behalf of the Norwegian professional environment or so that the input is included in the Norwegian standardization work.
